This story has been hilarious.
Day 1: 5 people arrested for dangerous driving and a host of other infractions. Turns out all 5 people spill out of the car naked as the day they were born. In -20 degree temperatures!
Day 2: These said naked people are also arrested for kidnapping & stealing a car. Owner found locked in trunk.
Day 3: Relative of the arrested claims they consumed hallucinogenic tea and didn't know what they were doing. Everyone asks where they can get this tea.
Day 4: These same people turn out to be J-Dubs. LMAO

What would you do for next November 5?
by Faded ini think everything has to start somewhere, and you can see the passion and commitment from those loyal 50 that showed up in warwick yesterday.
the event was not very well organized but you could see the passion & dedication from most of them.
and i think they at least touched a couple of people at the kh yesterday.. having an annual day of action actually inspires me.

This is way over and above the topic of November 5, but if there was a way to unite the ex JW factions and create a universal front, there could be hundreds of activists working in cities all over the world. Or one mega event.
If you had 2 or 3 major players organizing it, with a solid event organizer, the event could have 10x as many people there next time.
People such as Barbara Anderson, James Penton, John Cedars (yes even him - he's articulate and thought provoking even if people question his motives), Lee Elder, Susan Gaskins, etc. And also involve the VAA, Mike & Kim and other "unusual ones". Say what you want about them, but they do know how to reach people. No six screens though as he didn't bring his buddy Johnny the Bethalite to the first one. ;)
I know this is a pipe dream because there is so much infighting within some of these people, but can you just imagine what they could accomplish if they were united?

Where was this in Canada? That was incredible.
The tragedy in Texas was terrible & I have a feel the VAA will be painted as just about as terrible.

Ex-JWs In The Dating Scene - It's A Whole New Game
by pale.emperor insince leaving watchtower it still strikes me as odd how little i knew the real world and how it works.
i thought i knew how it worked but it turns out i didnt.
as jws we were always "courting with a view to marriage".you go on one date with a girl and everyone's expecting you're gonna marry her?

I have a lot to say on this subject. When I finally started dating (and having sex) at 27, I was such a weird abnormality. My experience & maturity level was the equivalent of a teenage girl (and an early teenager no less), but the men I wanted to date had been dating 10-20 years. You truly don't have any peers of your same age with a similar level of experience or expectations.
I still too this day (10+ years) later, have a hard time with my emotional maturity and expectations compared to the guys I am dating. I still have a lot to make up for, but I still deal with the guilt, fear, etc that comes with our background. I can have sex without commitment occasionally, but i'm still not as active as most single people my age.
